Investigators have discovered a chilling Facebook message that was posted by a Miami man, just two days before he committed suicide by crashing into a semi truck.

On February 21st 2016, Tzvi Yeheskel Ference drove his 2009 Hyundai Accent the wrong-way on the southbound lanes of Florida’s Turnpike, with his lights off, and crashed head-first into a semi truck. The truck driver attempted to swerve out the way, but was unable to dodge Ference’s vehicle.

The collision ruptured the truck’s fuel tank and sent it crashing into a guardrail. Ference was instantly killed. Thankfully, the truck driver and his passenger were unharmed.

As the investigation later revealed, it was not Ference’s first suicide attempt. It was his 7th.

He wrote the following post on Facebook just two days before the incident.

09u092j509j

It reads:

“I have major depression and have attempted suicide in the past. Sometimes life gets so overwhelming that I just want to quit. That happened Wednesday night. I was so overwhelmed that I made up my mind that this was it.

I started driving down 195 from Miami Beach then headed North on 95 ready and determined to get onto the Florida turnpike and drive the wrong way against traffic and crash my car head on into a truck and kill myself.”

The Florida Highway Patrol issued a statement saying “it’s a miracle no one else was killed or injured.”

Suicide is a tragedy in and of itself, but committing attempted murder in the process — makes it infinitely worse.
