On Wednesday, a man was killed in a crash on I-10 in Cabazon, California.

The Riverside County Coroner’s office has released the identity of the deceased man, a 59-year old Miguel Rolon of Thermal, California.

According to KESQ, at about 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, the incident occurred between Main Street and Haugen Lehman Way.

Officials stated that Rolon’s flatbed truck stalled on the freeway. He then stepped out of his vehicle and stood on his truck in an attempt to flag down drivers as a warning.

A FedEx driver swerved and clipped the side of the flatbed.

Debris from the incident resulted in the collision and damage of two additional semis. The FedEx truck also spilled a 50-gallon diesel tank onto the road, and Hazmat crews were called to clear the scene.

Eastbound lanes were reopened by 3:11 p.m.

Officials are investigating the cause of the stalled flatbed truck
