A semi truck was stolen from a parking lot in Corona, California, along with its haul of Monster Energy drinks.
The truck driver parked his rig in a parking lot on Sherborn Street around 3 p.m. on Monday. He returned to the lot the next morning to find that his truck was gone.
The cab of the truck was found in Jurupa Valley on Wednesday around midnight—but its trailer was missing.
Corona Police Sgt. Paul Mercado explained, “We’re trying to figure out how they got rid of the trailer. It’s safe to assume you’ve got to have something to pull the trailer.”
The Corona Police Department reported that the missing Monster Energy drinks inside the trailer were worth $41,438.20.
Police stated that the thief could face at least three felonies for the crime.
UPDATE:
According to The Press Enterprise, police have since recovered the trailer found in Fontana. But the trailer was empty. All of the drinks were stolen, police said.
The incident remains under investigation.
