A stretch of US-131 in Allegan County, Michigan was shut down on Friday morning after a four-vehicle pileup.
According to Allegan County Sheriff Frank Baker, it started when a semi truck jackknifed on the snowy road and blocked all southbound lanes around 10 a.m. Shortly after the truck jackknifed, three passenger vehicles crashed into the semi’s trailer.
The southbound lanes of US-131 were closed at exit 68 (142nd avenue) for approximately three hours in order for crews to clear the scene. Initial reports indicated only minor injuries in the crash.
The scene has been cleared and traffic is flowing again.
A motorist traveling north captured this cell phone footage of the pileup.
