Walmart shopper Diresa Lay, along with several other customers, has complained to the Walmart store in Lonoke, Arkansas of truck drivers parking and sleeping in the store’s parking lot.
According to Lay, she fears for the safety of her five month old son everytime she stops into the store to pick up diapers and other baby supplies. She told reporters at Arkansasmatters.com:
“I don’t know if I’m going to get in my car, if that’s going to be the last time I start it and see my family again I mean I don’t know anymore.”
In response, the store has place large signs that read “NO SEMI TRUCK PARKING” outside the entrance.
According to store management, truck drivers are welcome to shop there, just not park there.
Lay claims that her car was nearly hit several times in the last few months by “tired” truckers in the parking lot.
