
A tractor trailer was struck by a train after getting stuck on the tracks on Wednesday morning.
According to KAIT-8, the incident occurred around 7 a.m. on Highway 62 in Corning, Arkansas.
The semi truck was hauling an oversize load of machinery when it happened.
Police Chief Jimmy Leach explained, “It was permitted, but it got hung on the tracks and they were unable to get the truck moved before the train got to it.”
Thankfully, no one was seriously injured.
The roadway was shut down for hours as cleanup crews cleared the scene, including downed power lines.
There were no serious injuries, however several people were taken to a hospital for precautionary measures.
The incident remains under investigation.
