Fresno, California (5/25/2014) — A semi truck was stranded on train tracks near Highway 99 in Chowchilla, California on Sunday. When the truck driver couldn’t get the big rig over the tracks, he got out and tried to signal the oncoming train to stop.
However, the train, a nearly a mile long mammoth carrying a load of military equipment, was unable to stop. It collided with the semi, causing the trailer to explode on impact, launching the truck driver’s load of trail mix everywhere.
This particular crossing has proven to be problematic for semi trucks, as it’s easy to get stuck if going at a slow rate of speed. Thankfully, nobody was injured.
The shocking footage was caught via cell phone footage from a vehicle near the scene after seeing the stranded semi.
