A truck driver was taken to the hospital after slamming into an apartment building in California yesterday.

According to ABC-7, the driver lost control of his rig while exiting the 22 Freeway in Garden Grove, California, on Monday afternoon. He was taken to the trauma unit at the UCI Medical Center.

One witness, who lives in the building, wrote about the incident on Reddit and said the driver suffered a seizure while leaving the highway.

“The driver apparently had a seizure and came straight from the freeway off ramp. It blew through a steel gate and was probably 6 feet away from our couch once it stopped. Everyone is safe and only the driver went to the hospital” he wrote.

The building suffered significant structural damage in the crash, and more than a dozen tenants were forced to evacuate after their apartments were deemed uninhabitable.

The condition of the driver is currently unknown. His name has not been released.
