A shocking video has been released by the Grand Prairie Police Department, showing a semi truck running a red light and smashing into a police cruiser at an intersection in Grand Prairie, Texas.
A nearby traffic camera captured the accident, which took between Texas State Highway 161 and Pioneer Parkway on Friday, June 19th.
Remarkably, the two officers inside the SUV survived with only minor injuries.
Sgt. Eric Hanses of the GPPD described the incident, “A fully loaded 18-wheeler ran the red light going westbound and plowed right into the left side of his Tahoe, spun it almost a complete 360 degrees.”
Accord to NBC 5, the truck driver told officers he was not aware what color the light was when he crossed the intersection.
