A FedEx truck hauling double trailers crashed into an Olive Garden restaurant in Columbia, Missouri, early Friday morning.

According to police reports, the truck veered off Interstate 70 around 3 a.m., struck a highway sign and continued through the parking lot before crashing into the Olive Garden building located at 1300 I-70 Drive S.W.

The collision resulted in a two-alarm fire, which took nearly 40 minutes for Columbia firefighters to extinguish.

The driver of the truck was able to leave the truck on his own and reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to University Hospital to be treated.

FedEx said they are cooperating with law enforcement as they investigate the incident but declined to release the driver’s identity.
