The driver of a tractor trailer was seriously injured on Wednesday morning after falling off an overpass in Tampa, Florida.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the semi truck was traveling north on Interstate 75 when it was cut off by another vehicle around 7 a.m. The driver of the truck, 49-year-old Samuel Colon, then swerved onto the shoulder to avoid a collision.
The truck struck the overpass wall after swerving, causing it to topple off the overpass, onto Fowler Avenue below.

Colon suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Florida Hospital Tampa.

A load of recycled debris spilled across multiple lanes, damaging two vehicles under the overpass before police could close the road. As of 11 a.m., eastbound traffic on Fowler road is limited to one lane. The westbound lanes are open.
Crews are currently assessing the damage to the overpass.
Investigators are looking for witnesses with information about the vehicle that cut the trucker off. Anyone with information is asked to call FHP at 813-631-4020.
