A semi truck reportedly suffered brake failure and crashed into a Tennessee church. It happened on Monday morning at the First Baptist Church on Cameron Hill Circle in Chattanooga.
Police reported that while the truck was being loaded, its failed brakes sent it barreling downhill.
That’s when it crashed into the side of the church.
According to WRCB, firefighters who arrived at the scene were worried that a fuel leak could lead to an explosion.
Crews were able to stabilize the leak before its removal by tow trucks.
Chattanooga Fire Department spokesman Bruce Garner explained that the incident might have caused structural damage to the building.
A building inspector was called to the scene to investigate.
One unnamed person was injured as a result of the crash. The extent of those injuries is unknown.
The incident remains under investigation.
