Virginia (5/15/2014) — A tractor trailer hit a light pole and catapulted over the Chesapeake Bay bridge-tunnel in Virginia this Thursday.
While traveling northbound, the semi truck hit a maintenance truck that was making repairs on the bridge which caused it to jack-knife, smash into a light pole, and then plunge into the bay.
Four Navy divers attempted to rescue the driver, but his body was wrapped around the wreckage and unable to be recovered.
The incident happened at the 15 mile marker, and backed traffic up for hours.
