It was business as usual at a toll plaza on the West Virginia Turnpike, until a semi truck lost control and went crashing through one of the toll booths.
According to WV MetroNews, the Swift Transportation truck passed two concrete barriers safely before slamming into the lane 10 both around 10:30 p.m. on Monday at the Chelyan toll plaza.
Amazingly, the toll worker, who was inside the booth at the time of the crash, was not injured.
The general manager of the turnpike told reporters, “[The truck] got into the lane and then somehow got tangled up and jumped the curb and veered to the right.”
The lane will remain closed in order to repair the toll booth. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash.
