An Amtrak line was delayed for two and a half hours after a truck driver accidentally got stuck underneath the overpass where the tracks lay.
The incident occurred in Dexter, Michigan over the weekend. According to Lt. Michael Grissom of the Dexter Fire Dept., the driver didn’t realize that his truck wouldn’t be able to fit under the 11-foot 10-inch clearance. Grissom told reporters “He just thought he had more room than he did.”
It took three separate tow trucks to free the trapped semi. There were no injuries, and after examining the bridge, officials deemed it free of any structural damage.
According to Grissom, there are several signs in both directions stating the height restrictions, but this isn’t the first time a truck has gotten stuck there.
