On Monday, December 22nd, a truck driver found himself in a tight spot after his GPS led him into a historic national park and into a height restricted tunnel within the park.
The incident occurred in Utah’s Zion National park around 11:45 pm. The truck driver was unfamiliar with the area, and missed the low clearance signs posted outside the entrance of the tunnel.
According to park officials, “The driver stated that he was new to the area, that his GPS led him on the route and that he followed another vehicle through the entrance station without noticing the signs.”
The semi became wedged between the road and the low ceiling roughly 600 feet from the exit of the tunnel.
Investigators are currently assessing if any structural damage was incurred due to the incident.
