A semi truck caught fire and spread to a tollbooth, causing extensive damage. It happened around 6 a.m. on Wednesday on the Indiana Toll Road in Portage, Indiana.
Fox 32 reported that the eastbound semi truck was stopped at the Portage Toll Barrier when it caught fire and spread to the structure.
All lanes of the Toll Road were closed after the incident.
Eastbound lanes remain closed while cleanup and investigations are underway. Westbound lanes have since reopened. Police have advised motorists to use caution while driving in the area and to seek alternate routes if possible.
The estimated damage to the toll booth and semi truck is $1 million.
No injuries were reported. The incident remains under investigation.
