Four people were injured after a semi truck lost control and barreled into a liquor store in Sterling Heights, Michigan, on Tuesday afternoon.
“A semi-truck going northbound on Mound lost control and ended up going into the building, pinning the driver inside the truck and injuring at least three people inside,” said Sterling Heights Fire Chief Chris Martin.
“I don’t think it was a health issue, I think it was more of a road issue with other vehicles,” he added.
The truck driver was trapped inside his rig after striking the building and had to be cut out of the vehicle. The driver and three others who were inside the store were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The building sustained significant damage and will be closed for an extended period of time for repairs. An investigation is currently underway.
