At least 30 vehicles were involved in a crash that shut down a stretch of Interstate 70 in Indiana on Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred near mile post 147 on the westbound lanes of I-70 in Richmond.

According to reports, a crash between a passenger car and a semi truck led to a chain reaction, resulting in the large pileup. More than half of the vehicles involved are believed to be semi trucks.

Traffic from westbound I-70 will be diverted onto US Highway 35.

There is no word on injuries yet.

This crash occurred around the same time that a 40-vehicle pileup closed Interstate 74 in West Harrison, Indiana, approximately 40 miles south.
