A tractor trailer hauling a load of steel pipes fell more than 25-feet down an embankment on Interstate 90 in Billings, Montana, on Sunday.

The Billings Gazette reported that the truck was traveling too fast for conditions on westbound Interstate 90, near the Interstate 94 interchange, when it lost control and slid down the side of the highway.

The load of steel pipes came loose from the flatbed trailer during the fall and collided with the jackknifed Freightliner truck. The cab of the truck sustained significant damage. Miraculously, the 34-year-old Canadian driver and a passenger in the truck’s sleeper berth were not seriously injured.

The driver was taken to a nearby hospital. His passenger refused medical attention.
