On Thursday afternoon in Kalamazoo County, Michigan, a crash involving a semi closed down a portion of westbound I-94.

According to Fox 17, a Chrysler minivan driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the Oakland Drive Bridge. It then drifted back into traffic where a westbound semi, driven by a 40-year-old from Nashport, Ohio, struck the vehicle.

The semi-truck was loaded with about 40,000 pounds of beer.

As a result of the accident, both vehicles overturned. The driver of the semi was unable to escape his vehicle before it caught fire.

Both drivers were taken to a hospital. Their conditions have not been released.

The Oakland Drive/Exit 75 exit remained closed until 7:00 p.m. that day following the crash that occurred around 3:30 p.m.
