A woman was killed after a runaway semi truck crashed into her pickup truck in Emerson, Georgia on Thursday evening.

According to reports, the truck driver, 52-year-old Ivan Delgado of New York, was outside the rig performing a pre-trip inspection when it rolled onto Highway 41 after he forgot to set the air brakes.

The tractor trailer struck a Toyota pick up truck that was passing by on Highway 41, killing 31-year-old Kyra Carr and injuring her two young daughters and husband. It took two hours for rescue crews to free Carr’s husband and children from the vehicle.

Police say that Delgado, who drives for Celadon Trucking, was on “mind altering” drugs. He was charged with DUI.
