A reserve sheriff deputy is in hot water after a road rage incident with a semi truck driver.
Veteran trucker Frank Collins told reporters that he was driving on Interstate 35 in Austin, Texas, when a red pickup truck cut him off and hit his brakes.
All of a sudden, this red truck comes around me, pulls in front of me, and hit his brakes,” Collins told reporters.
This continued on and off for a mile and a half, until both drivers stopped their vehicles.
“Then, he gets out, started walking toward me, and just starts popping – shooting at me,” Collins continued.
WFAA News 8 acquired footage of Collin’s truck and in the video you can clearly see it riddled with bullet holes. One of the shots went directly through the windshield, narrowly missing Collins who was shocked at what was unfolding before him.
Collins wasn’t hit by any of the six shots, but went to the hospital to remove the shattered glass from his windshield that was lodged in his skin.
When police arrived, they arrested the driver of the pickup, 41-year-old Daniel Zurita Jr. Zurita Jr. is a reserve deputy in Wilson County, Texas. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and released on $50,000 bond.
