
The driver of a rented box truck plowed into a toll booth in California, killing a 46-year-old Caltrans employee.
The incident happened on Saturday morning, around 5:10 a.m., on the Oakland side of the Bay Bridge on Interstate 80.
According to NBC Bay Area, the box truck, driven by 32-year-old Daniel Bark plowed into a line of traffic that was stopped at the toll booth, causing a chain reaction crash that sent vehicles into the toll booth.
The toll booth attendant, Si Si Han, was killed in the accident. She was a 10-year CalTrans employee.
The driver of the truck was ejected from his vehicle and suffered serious injuries in the crash.
He is expected to be arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter once released from the hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
