A truck driver was struck by a vehicle that ran a stop sign, causing him to lose control and crash into a North Carolina house earlier this week.
The incident took place in Angier, North Carolina on Monday morning.
The driver of the truck, 71-year-old Tony Spainhour, shared the chilling dash cam video on Facebook, along with the following captions.
It reads:
This dash cam video shows an accident I was involved in on 8 February 2016. My dump truck was struck by a vehicle which ran a stop sign and collided with the right rear wheels causing me to lose control and collide with a house. This video shows how fast an accident can happen without you having time to react. Most people want to place the blame on large trucks when an accident occurs but in most cases they are the result of the actions of other drivers. I only survived this collision by lying across the seats at the time of impact.
This was the end result.
The man who ran the stop sign, 57-year-old Willie R. Woodard, was arrested and charged with failure to stop for a stop sign, driving with a revoked license and operating a vehicle with a fictitious license plate, according to WRAL.com.
Spainhour suffered minor injuries and was taken to Central Harnett Hospital.
