According to Wisconsin State Journal, the crash occurred in the westbound lanes of the Beltline near the Park Street interchange.

The preliminary investigation detailed that Marbley was driving east in the westbound lanes when he struck the semi-truck practically head on.

Police spokesman Joel DeSpain stated:

“The collision caused the truck to crash into and go on top of concrete barriers along the median. This sent chunks of concrete and other debris across both the westbound and eastbound lanes.”

The drunken driver was pinned inside his car for 20 minutes while crews worked to removed him from his wrecked vehicle.

Marbley suffered broken bones and internal injuries as a result of the crash, but he is expected to survive. The 49-year-old semi truck driver from Illinois was uninjured.

Police reported that the investigation and cleanup of the scene kept the Beltline closed from 3:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Saturday.
