51-year-old Lenny B. Robinson, rose to internet fame three years ago after several videos hit the net of the Maryland native driving a black Lamborghini while wearing a Batman costume.
It was later discovered that Robinson wasn’t just playing dress up, he was using the costume for good.
After running a successful cleaning company, he spent his days putting smiles on young cancer patients and handing out gifts to sick kids in Maryland hospitals, while dressed as the superhero.
On Sunday, August 16th 2015, Robinson was on his way back home in his custom vintage Batmobile, when he experienced engine problems. He pulled over on the side of Interstate 70 in Hargerstown, Md. to examine his vehicle when it was struck from behind by a Toyota Camry.
The impact launched the Lamborghini directly into Robinson, who was standing outside the vehicle. According to the Washington Post, he was dead by the time paramedics arrived.
No charges have been filed as of yet, and the crash is still under investigation. The driver of the Camry was not injured.
