Earlier this week rescue crews were shocked to find a survivor inside a semi truck that was crushed during a deadly collision in Agustua, Kentucky. That survivor was a small puppy named Peterbilt.
The crash occurred on Wednesday, May 20th, on Interstate 71 when his owner, 36-year-old truck driver Robert Major, crashed into the back of another semi truck that was pulling over to the side of the road in order to check on a flat tire.
According to WHIO, Major was killed when the 40,000 pound steel coil he was hauling got loose after impact and crushed the cab of his truck. After seeing the remains of the cab, rescue crews were doubtful that anyone, or anything, could have survived, but were shocked to see the puppy curled up into a corner inside the cab.
The company that Major worked for, Dillender Trucking, says they’ll return the dog to his family. The driver who was hit from the back was not injured
