The Ohio State Police were called to Interstate 75 after gunshots were fired in a road rage incident between two truck drivers on Tuesday evening.
According to police reports, 51-year-old Harold Baker, of Middlesboro, Kentucky, got into an argument with a 40-year-old truck driver from Michigan, while traveling on I-75 south in Montgomery County, Ohio.
Shortly before 9 p.m., Baker fired at the cab of the Michigan driver with a 9mm handgun. The Michigan driver then called police.
When officers arrived, both truckers were pulled over on the shoulder of I-75.
According to WHIO, the rounds became lodged in the truck’s chassis, and did not hit the driver.
“We don’t know the origin of the argument. We just know a weapon was discharged during that incident,” said Sgt. Frank Simmons Jr.
Harold Baker was arrested by Ohio police, who are calling the incident an act of road rage. He was charged with improper use of a firearm and felonious assault.
The identity of the other driver was not released. An investigation is underway.
