
A truck driver was tased after a nearly hour-long pursuit on Monday afternoon.
The chase began in Whiting, Indiana, when the driver took off after being stopped for driving in a non-truck route around 10:40 a.m. The chase went on for 51 minutes, crossing into Illinois and finally coming to an end back in Whiting, Indiana.
According to the NWI Times, nearly 30 police officers surrounded the rig, with three police officers shooting at the truck’s tires to get it to stop. Once the truck came to a stop, an officer used a taser to subdue the driver.
Several vehicles, including three police cruisers, were damaged during the chase.
Police say the driver is a 44-year-old man from Florida. He was taken to the hospital and arrested. Charges are currently pending.
