Police in Victorville, California, discovered $11 million worth of heroin in a tractor trailer during a traffic stop on Thursday.

The truck was stopped for speeding on the northbound 15 Freeway, around 8 a.m. It was headed to Canada.

Authorities say the driver was acting suspiciously and was visibly nervous. Officers then deployed a K9, which indicated the presence of drugs in the trailer.

Upon searching the trailer, officers discovered approximately 100 kilograms of heroin — a street value of $11 million.

“The story and his nervousness brought on the attention – that there’s something going on here,” California Highway Patrol officer Robert Mendenhall said. “What we call his criminal indicators led us to believe there’s more going on here than just a truck driver heading to Canada.”

The truck driver was arrested and is currently being held in a California jail. His name has not been released.
