Just after noon on Tuesday March 28, 2017 Deerfield Officers responded to Circle K at 1 Greenfield Road for a despondent truck driver.
The driver was locked out of his truck. Sgt Ruddock began speaking with him and the driver was clearly acting combative and showing signs of drug use. The truck driver admitted to using crystal methamphetamine, LSD and cocaine.
Additional officers from Deerfield as well as neighboring communities and State Police responded.
Officers had quite the struggle to get this truck driver to the Baystate Franklin Medical Center. He was clearly a danger to himself and others.
The trailer truck was impounded and brought to the Whately Truck stop for full inspection by the State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section.
It appeared the driver didn’t rest, only used drugs, and he drove from Seattle, Washington to Deerfield, with a destination on the East Coast.
