A police officer in North Carolina plowed into the back of a tractor trailer and caught fire while responding to a call on Friday night.

The accident happened on Friday, September 8th, in Durham, North Carolina.

According to local WRAL.com, the officer was responding to an armed robbery with his sirens and lights on, when he crashed into the back of the tractor trailer at the intersection of T.W. Alexander Drive and South Miami Boulevard around 9:15 p.m.

The vehicle became wedged under the rear of the trailer before catching fire.

The police officer suffered minor injuries in the crash and was able to leave the vehicle on his own. After leaving his cruiser, the officer proceeded to check on the condition of the truck driver, who was not injured in the crash.
