A dash cam clip posted by the City of Crystal Police Department shows a box truck zooming down a highway shoulder, just inches away from a trooper and two citizens.

The incident happened in Crystal, Minnesota, on February 24th.

According to reports, police Lt. Underthun stopped on the highway to assist with a minor traffic collision, when a speeding box truck moved from the blocked right lane, to the shoulder of the highway, causing Underthun and two citizens to leap out of the way.

The police department posted the following message on Facebook, along with the video:

When a commentor asked what the truck was doing on the shoulder, the police dept. replied, “Driving too fast for conditions & not paying attention (two things that do NOT work well when road conditions aren’t perfect)”

Although it was a close call, no one was injured.
