Police cruisers captured this dramatic dash cam footage of a chase with a semi truck on Interstate 270 on Wednesday.

The incident happened on March 15th, on Interstate 270 near Columbus, Ohio.

According to reports, police received several calls of the semi driving erratically around 7:30 p.m. When they reached the truck, the driver refused to stop and the chase began.

The chase lasted for approximately 43 minutes, and finally came to an end after a slew of patrol cars surrounded the rig on the highway.

The driver, 63-year-old Barry Austin Demings, was carrying a load of syrup. He “was sweating profusely, had urinated himself, continued to nod off, was incoherent and “admitted to taking some kind of drug that he purchased at a gas station,” the Columbus Dispatch reported.

Demings was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, several lane violations, and failure to stop. Police are waiting for the results of a blood test to determine the type of drug he was on.
