Police in Gallup, New Mexico, discovered more than a hundred pounds of marijuana during a routine semi truck inspection on Wednesday.
According to KOAT-7, the driver, 42-year-old Jose Silva Rodriguez of Miami, Florida, was selected for inspection at the Gallup Port of Entry when officers noticed a discrepancy with the load he was hauling.
After further investigation, port officers discovered 106 pounds of pot stashed away in hidden compartments in the trailer.
He was arrested by New Mexico police on charges of possession of a controlled substance, distribution of marijuana more than 100 pounds, as well as various trucking infractions. According to police reports, Rodriguez was traveling from California to Florida.
He is currently being held at the McKinley County Detention Center in New Mexico.
