Police in Calhoun County, Michigan are searching for the driver of a semi truck who allegedly forced another semi off the road in a fit of road-rage.
The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. at mile marker 42 on I-69 in Convis Township.
According to Fox-17, the suspect made “aggressive gestures” towards the other driver, then swerved into the side of his truck and forced it off the road. The victim’s truck rolled over, causing the driver to suffer minor injuries.
The suspect was described as a black male. Police say the suspect’s semi truck likely suffered some damage on the right side of the vehicle.
Michigan State Police released the following description in a press release:
The tractor has a tinted window on the passenger side of the sleeper berth. There is also black lettering on the passenger side door of the truck and below the window of the sleeper. The trailer had small markings near the nose on the curb side and what appears to be a crack in the van box near the landing gear.
Some commentors questioned the validity of the road rage claim, stating that the incident was more likely caused by a reckless lane switch in order to make an exit.
Anyone with information is being asked to call the Michigan State Police at 269-558-0500.
