The driver of a pickup was injured after crashing into the back of a tractor trailer in Phoenix, Arizona, on Monday.
It happened near 51st Avenue and Buckeye Road shortly before noon.
“The passenger vehicle driver has been taken to a local hospital in serious condition. Officers are waiting for an update from the hospital to determine his condition. The semi truck driver was not injured,” said Phoenix Police Sgt. Jonathan Howard.

Local Fox-10 News later reported that the pickup driver was in critical condition at a nearby hospital.
The intersection was closed after the accident, but has since reopened.
