The Pennsylvania Dept. of Transportation has banned all semi truck traffic on a stretch Interstate 95, due to safety concerns around the Democratic National Convention. However, a new report has indicated that many drivers are ignoring the ban — and paying for it with strict enforcement.

The ban prevents all trucks that exceed five tons from traveling on I-95 near the Wells Fargo Canter, between Exit 13 and Exit 22, during the week of the DNC.

According to USA Today, despite signs and warnings, many truck drivers violated the ban, forcing officials to use an entire lane just to divert overweight trucks off the interstate. Every truck on that stretch of the highway is now being diverted to one of two checkpoints to be weighed. One of the checkpoints is near the airport, and the other is located near Vine Street Expressway and I-95.

The weight restriction on commercial vehicles will be in effect until Friday.
