A pedestrian was killed after walking in front of a moving semi truck in Tonopah, Arizona.
CBS 5 reported that the incident occurred at around 2:40 a.m. on Monday morning, when the individual walked into the right lanes of I-10, and into the path of an oncoming semi truck.
Troopers stated that the person was involved in another accident before being hit by the semi.
Officials are unsure why the pedestrian ended up on the freeway. Details about the individual have not been released.
The eastbound lanes of I-10 were shut down and traffic was diverted south along 339th Avenue during the investigation.
The highway has since reopened. The truck driver was not reported to be injured.
