The driver of an SUV was injured after crashing into a fuel tanker on Interstate 405 in Fountain Valley, California over the weekend.
On Saturday, December 10th, the SUV reportedly crossed multiple lanes of traffic before driving into the side of the tanker truck. After being struck by the out-of-control SUV, the tanker nearly overturned but was held up by a BMW on its right. The elevated truck was then wedged between the SUV and the BMW.
The impact caused the SUV to catch fire. The driver suffered third degree burns and was taken to a nearby hospital. The condition of the truck driver and BMW driver have not been released.
The crash happened around 6 p.m. and closed the northbound lanes until 10 p.m.
