An accident turned fatal when two trucks collided on Tuesday morning.
At 11:37 a.m., officials responded to the scene of the crash on I-41 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
According to Fond du Lac Reporter, a Swift Transportation truck was rear-ended by a flatbed truck which was hauling a van and an SUV. Due to the impact, the Swift truck was forced off the road and onto a dirt median. What was left of the flatbed’s cab was a mangled piece of metal.
One person died at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the Swift truck was not injured. Flying debris also injured another near-by driver who was not involved in the collision.
The crash caused significant traffic delays in western Fond du Lac. Police reported that Highway 41 northbound lanes from Highway 151 to Johnson Street will remain closed until around 6 p.m. Traffic is being diverted to avoid the area.
