A portion of Interstate 78 in New Jersey has been shut down after a semi truck hauling maple syrup overturned, spilling the sweet, sticky, syrup all over the road. Thankfully, no one was injured in the crash.
According to the New Jersey State Police, the ramp I-78 exit 7 ramp to State Highway 173 will be closed for an extended period for cleanup.

NJSP jokingly called it #Syrupgeddon in their Facebook post about the incident, as well as adding that “cleanup crews plan on using thousands of waffles to soak up” the mess.
(Anyone with a good knowledge of breakfast foods knows that pancakes would do a much better job.)
