A new Petro Travel Center being built in South Carolina will feature all the amenities that you’ve come to expect from a truck stop chain. But it’ll also feature something out of the ordinary: a 16-lane bowling alley.

Senior Vice-President of Marketing Tom Liutkus says the bowling alley will make the location a “a destination spot for the professional truck driver as well as the local community.”

“We have been testing additional services or entertainment options in order to see if our sites can serve to offer ways for professional drivers to have another way to relax and enjoy themselves in what is an otherwise (too often) stressful day of driving across the country. Earlier in 2016, we opened the new Hillsboro, Texas TA with an adjacent golf and gun simulator activity center. This is another of those efforts.”

In addition to the bowling alley, the center will include 134 parking spaces, 315 automobile spaces, a 276-seat Quaker Steak & Lube restaurant, a Starbucks, a convenience store, and a truck service facility.

The new Petro location is slated for a March 2017 opening and is located off Interstate 77 near Columbia.
