Two semi trucks were involved in an accident on Highway 43 in Alabama this morning, resulting in at least one death.

The crash occurred at mile marker 14, near the Parade Truck Stop, in Axis, Alabama.

According to Fox-10, the two trucks collided around 7:30 a.m. on the southbound lanes. One of the trucks overturned in the crash, the other’s trailer was ripped open. Alabama State Troopers have confirmed at least one fatality.

The southbound lanes were closed as a result of the crash, with northbound traffic moving at a crawl.

As of 11:09 a.m., the southbound lanes were still closed at mile marker 14. You can check the ADOT’s website for updates on the road closure.
