
The driver of a box truck was shot in the face after honking at a driver who ran a stop sign and nearly caused an accident.
The incident happened on Friday March 3rd, in southwest Miami-Dade County, Florida. The victim, Eliel Perez, works for Two Men And A Truck moving company and was on the way to a job site when another box truck ran a stop sign at Southwest 248th Street and Southwest 207th Avenue.
After Perez honked his horn, the suspect pulled ahead of the moving truck, got out of his vehicle, and fired at the truck with a shotgun. Perez was shot in the face.
Two of Perez’s coworkers were in the truck with him and witnessed the incident. They quickly called 911 and assisted the driver until emergency crews arrived.
“All we did was beep the horn at him,” one of his co-workers said. “We tried to keep going, but he followed us and fired off a shot at us.”
Perez was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery.
Two Men and a Truck issued a statement following the incident: ‘Eliel underwent surgery and has been released from the hospital. He is in good spirits and grateful for the outpouring of support today.
Police called the incident a road rage shooting and are currently searching for the suspect. He is described as a Hispanic male with shoulder length hair who was driving a box truck.
