A video has surfaced of a semi truck sliding on a Minnesota highway during the first large snowstorm of the year.
It was taken last Friday, November 18th, on Highway 60 between Heron Lake and Worthington, Minnesota.
The clip, uploaded by Facebook user Rochelle Palmquist has since gone viral.
Some people criticized the driver for traveling during the treacherous driving conditions.
So a really unreasonable to drive a rigg in this weather. The dollar is more important than life in civilians.
This isn’t a truckdriver… It’s a truckp*ssy… A driver would made a standoff because he would know that he’s rigg wasn’t equipped for this conditions. Because in the end he has the responsibility of he’s actions.
Driving empty in the snow and driving to fast for road conditions that’s why you are jackknifing
But many others credited the driver with keeping the empty rig upright.
Great driver. Company he works for sure be proud to have him. I’m sure this was quite nerve racking for him. Hell, I was nervous just watching this!!!!
To all the car drivers that don’t understand, when we semi drivers are empty and the wind is blowing hard, it’s difficult to keep straight even on a dry road. It looks like this driver was not only fighting the wind and ice, but seen lower visibility ahead and was slowing down as well. Hats off to the driver for keeping it erect and ending up straight!
The footage was viewed more than 1,000,000 times since it was posted online. In total, more than 340 crashes were reported in the area in just a 12 hour period. Thankfully, the truck driver in the video wasn’t one of them.
