Two police officers were trapped inside their vehicles after responding to a semi truck crash on Interstate 35 in Oklahoma yesterday. The truck, which was hauling bees, overturned as it as it was taking an exit ramp on southbound I-35, near mile marker 72.
Millions of bees escaped from the rig during the crash and swarmed the vehicles of two responding officers. One of the officers, Sheriff Deputy Carl Zink, recorded the scene from inside his vehicle as he was trapped inside.
The officers were rescued after firefighters arrived and sprayed the bees with water, causing them to scatter.
According to KTLA-5, despite being surrounded by the swarm of bees, Zink was only stung once.
Traffic was backed up for several miles due to the accident. The driver of the truck was not injured.
