A man was killed at his home when a semi truck rolled on top of him in Larkin Township, Michigan.

It happened late Monday, after 42-year-old William Jewell had been working on the truck all day. According to Washington Times, he was last seen by his fiancé at 10:45 p.m. when he was almost done with repairs. Around 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday, his fiancé realized that Jewell was missing.

When she went outside to look for him, she saw him pinned underneath the semi truck and dialed 911.

Investigators believe that the man was using a jack to raise the truck’s rear tires and was reportedly lowering the semi down when the vehicle rolled forward, crushing his chest.

Jewell was pronounced dead at the scene.
