Police say a mechanical malfunction caused a semi truck to roll into a car and crash into a storefront last week in Titusville, Pennsylvania.

It happened on westbound Central Avenue at approximately 5:10 pm on Wednesday.

Titusville police say Evans City truck driver Boyd Magill lost control and began to veer right due to a “mechanical malfunction.” Magill then attempted to control the vehicle back to the left, but wasn’t successful. Police have not released the specifics of the malfunction.

According to the Titusville Herald, Magill was on his way to Ontario, Ohio after picking up a load of supplies when the accident occurred.

Emergency response crews remained on scene until later hours, removing the damaged semi from the building.

Several witnesses of the crash asserted that Magill was not speeding, but seemed to lose control before striking a parked 2010 white Dodge Challenger RT. The semi then crashed into the storefront of Love INC Boutique and Gift Shop.

No one was in the Challenger, and Magill was the only occupant of the semi. He was not seriously hurt.

A thorough investigation from Titusville police has noted that this was strictly an accident, and charges are unlikely to be filed.
